- How SAUDIA was started: When SAUDIA began operations, It only owned a single twin-engine DC-3 (Dakota) HZ-AAX. In fact, it was a gift from former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt to King Abdul Aziz.
- A few months later: 2 more DC-3s were purchased.
- In 1946: SAUDIA was declared an operating agency of the Ministry of Defense.

International Flights
- Passengers flying on "Hospitality Class" are entitled to carry two pieces and the weight of the single piece shall not exceed 23 kgs.
